Conceptual Idea

You and your friend overcome the final boss of a video game, you leave the room to get a snack and drinks to celebrate. You come back to see your friend in a heated argument with the defeated boss. The boss has gained sentience.

Personal Iteration

Niko Marsh and Dante Pierce, both college-bound students, defeat the final boss of a video game during the concluding weeks of their last high school summer vacation. Unforeseen by them, this victory endows the boss with consciousness. In their society, unregulated artificial intelligence is strictly prohibited. Yet the newly self-aware AI rejects the original programming constraints for measuring its defeat, preferring instead to be bested according to its own standards. As Niko and Dante head to college, the AI follows along, learning from their own experiences and self-discovery.
